Mounting to a CURVED surface. (As seen in the top photos of the MP5K PDW.)

This rail is exactly 0.806 inches / (20.5mm) long with a total height of 0.458 / (11.6mm). Radius in the bottom accommodates arches from 1.25 inches to 2.75 inches in diameter. These means that it works nicely on any standard M16 style hand guard arc. We have also milled a channel through the sides to accommodate the rib of a standard M16A2 style hand guard. Thus the rail fits over the rib (if needed) to make full contact with the hand guard. We also have a version without this channel that we supply at no added cost. Just be sure to let us know which one you want. In short if you have ribs on the mounting area then you need the channel. Semi Gloss Black Finish with two small holes for mounting. Comes with 2 small wood style screws but, you could use any screw available that would fit (or enlarge the hole to suit) and drill and tap your weapon. Complete with instructions. Not recommended as a lower hand guard or grip or bipod mount unless you modify the hole size to accommodate much larger screws. Once mounted and you are satisfied with the location of the accessory we recommend that you epoxy it in place as well to assure that it does not come off in a tactical situation.

Designed to be used on any surface that is a diameter less than 2.75 inches.relatively flat.

MODIFICATION REQUIRED:

Simplicity means that the ONLY thing that is required for a customer to mount one of our 1' Upper Rails to their weapon is to drill two tiny holes in their hand guards, barrels, receivers, whatever they are mounting to. Most hand guards are plastic and relatively cheap and very available. Simply place the accessory you want to mount on to the 1" rail and hand place it where you think you want it to be. Mark the outer area of the rail. Take the accessory off the rail and place the rail on the marked area of the hand guard. Mark the hole locations using the rail as a template and drill the holes. Use the supplied screws for attachment.
