Pictured above is an actual photo of " ARRI AKM AIR SOFT " state of the art in low volume air guns. (Just as MFI supplies to the Professional Motion Picture Industry.) Commonly known as Air Soft this model is single shot only. That is to say that you must physically pull back the charging handle before each shot. The real AKM / AK47 with it's brother the under folding stock version the AK-47S Kalashnikov have been the heart and soul of most Socialist or Communist Countries throughout the world. The AK-47 is in the middle of the Kalashnikov models in terms of length. The shortest being the Spetsnaz Pistol most of you know this gun as the latest of the variations to come out of the ex-Soviet countries. The SVD Dragunov Sniper is the longest model of this family.

The AKM is the Egyptian version of the AK47. Main difference being in the configuration of the hand guard with the added raised area for finger grip. The BBs used are the industry standard 6mm plastic type. The simulated laminated wood / Bakelite stock and hand guard are sort of a cross / in between the Egyptian laminated wood and the bad / funky Chinese or Early Yugoslavian plastic / Bakelite versions. Actually somewhat close in color to the Bulgarian AK74U wood but, slightly more metallic / plastic.

So many customers have been asking for a single shot AK that we basically raised this from the dead. ARRI is a premier model company in Japan and this is an older model that they now only produce for MFI. Although there are some give a ways on the this side of the gun like small screws in the stock and mag plus the channel cut for the pull down loading of bbs this AKM is a great gun. What we really like is the fact that the entire gun (unlike any other airsoft gun) being originally a model kit is able to be taken apart as the entire gun is held together by these small screws. This includes the left and right sides of the outer barrel! Now why we score this so high is because these screws allow you to easily take off (of course this is all very time consuming) the stock and hand guards to paint them black to simulate Russian late model AK-101s. Or shorten the barrel and gas tube.

This AKM airsoft had an adjustable hop up mechanism! Unlike 95% of all other single shot airsoft guns which have non-adjustable hop ups.

Just for you Prop Masters out there we have even made versions of the AKS-74U Krinkov or Standard AKS-74. We use real weapons parts sets to do this. We also add points as the magazine wells accept real mags (AK47 or AK74) if you cut off the top 1.5 inches of the mag, which completes the look. You can even place on a real AK74 flash suppressor as the barrel diameter is the same / slightly smaller so it will not thread on but, it is a tight fit. Or you can buy an MFI M16 style or SIG style black plastic flash suppresser for an even more modern / custom look! All this obviously needs to follow DOC rules / qualifications.

SPECIAL NOTE: MFI can make the above modifications for you but, as parts sets are $400.00+ for AKS74Us and the time involved to paint / make short barrels is on average 10+ hours any custom AK would be over $750.00. In short save the money and do it yourself. From the above photos you can see that with a little time, a couple of cans of gray and or black spay paint and minimal tools you can have a number of different versions of AKs.
