Brief Summary:
Pictured above is an actual MFI photo of " The Electric AUG Style ARMY AIRSOFT ". (Just as MFI supplies to the Professional Motion Picture Industry.) The ARMY Model is the standard version issued to Austrian troops. It is also is used by a number of different countries like Australia.
SPECIAL NOTE ON REALISM: Although this product may look similar to the real thing when compared side by side they are NOT identical. While they may share some of the same cosmetic features / external shape the internal & external mechanisms for actual operation are in fact completely different from the real thing. Of course this is NOT are real weapon nor is it manufactured by STEYR. The real weapon's manufacture has NO relationship to this airsoft product which is styled after the real thing. Thus any mention of or use of trade names is done in reference to the real weapon and NOT the airsoft product. No MFI offered product has any Trademarks or other IPR use on it. We do this to be sure that there is NO CONFUSION IN THE MARKET.
This product is state of the art in low volume air guns. Commonly known as Air Soft this model is all electric and select fire (Semi & Full Automatic). That is to say that it is capable of both semi automatic and full automatic fire. The BBs used are the industry standard 6mm plastic type. The AUG Style was one of the first bull pups ever integrated as a standard issue rifle. Some Special Operations Teams also prefer this weapon.
The bullpup style has become more and more accepted in Law Enforcement and Military worldwide. The advantages of this style are that the overall length of the weapon can be shortened greatly while retaining or even increasing the barrel length. In real life terms barrel length adds accuracy... in airsoft terms it means little or nothing. Still the shorter style offers greater maneuverability in CQB situations or any tight / room to room fighting.
In real life the Steyr AUG Military / Army is only available to Military and Law Enforcement (full auto) and a few were made in semi auto for the civilian market here in the USA. It is a favorite of Special Operations Teams as it is one of the shortest assault weapons available in .223 or 5.56 NATO. A real AUG (Army or SP) if you are lucky enough to live in a state where they are legal the cost is near $5500.00 +. Why risk dangerous and expensive real firearms in the hands of untrained actors? Or enjoy relatively safe indoor shooting year round. It is correct in size, feel and very near the real weight making this airgun ideal for training or collecting! What makes this airgun unique is that all the AUG styled (as well as the P-90) can be taken apart like the real thing! CLICK HERE TO SEE THE AUG STYLE BB GUN COME APART! This is one of the reasons the AUG Style series scores so high with us. This allows it to be used in Professional Motion Pictures even in extreme close up and in scene where the weapon must be taken apart to be cleaned or fit in a case. This quick take down option also makes it far easier to clean / remove a jammed bb from the barrel. Unless you have a lot of experience with airsoft you would not really fully appreciate this option. In 90% of the airsoft guns out there (AEGs anyway) the barrel ends in the receiver area in a right angle so the bb can be fed up from the magazine. So in this case because this barrel moves away from this area with just the push of a button you can more easily see down the barrel and push the bb out, without trying to make the bb go down that sharp right angle.
We have mentioned the scope above several times. The integral (meaning built in / non-removable) scope is correct in shape and size as well as having the correct reticle. Click here to see the reticle style. Like all the scopes that MFI carries the Marui knock off of the AUG Style scope is a real optic. The guts are Tasco and it is nitrogen filled and has an anti-glare coating. The real AUG scope is a 1.5 power with a 15mm tube (diameter) where the Marui version is 2 power and the same 15mm tube. The scope has (like the original) built in iron sites on the top portion of the scope. Scope is full adjustable for windage and elevation but, iron sites are fix and non-adjustable. The iron sites on the Army model do not need adjusting as they are dead on.
SPECIAL NOTE: The biggest complaint in the airsoft industry these days that MFI hears at least twice per day is the supplying of substandard "El Cheepo" generic batteries with electric guns. This is a common practice of ripping of the customer by unscrupulous vendors. These vendors can offer lower prices as they supply substandard batteries (Non OME "ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE EQUIPMENT"). MFI could also buy these junk batteries ($2.75 to $4.00) that last only 2 months (if they even work at all when you get them) as many of you have called to buy batteries from us to replace these poor quality ones supplied by someone else. REST ASSURED that MFI supplies only OME batteries or Generic versions made under license of Tokyo Marui in the exact same battery factories that make Marui's using the exact same tooling and top quality cells as they do for Marui OME. There is a significant cost difference and a very good reason why MFI & Marui recommend using ONLY OME Spec batteries and chargers as substandard equipment can permanently damage your costly airsoft gun. Genuine Tokyo Marui or MFI Generic batteries are good for 2.5+ years at a minimum. In short you get what you pay for...
Yes the AUG style series is nearly 100% ambidextrous (meaning it can be shot equally well by right or left handed shooters). We say nearly as only the cocking handle is accessible from the left-hand side. To be 100% this part would also need to be moveable to the opposite side. Not that it really matters as the user can use the other hand just as easily to cock the weapon in real life. Airsoft of course does NOT need to be cocked anyway in order for it to fire so this means little or nothing to this product. What is important is that it does move back and forth (when pulled) and the ejection ports do open and close with this same action. Yes you do get a rubber ejection port cover that can be moved from one side to the other in seconds.
Tokyo Marui has done a superb job with both the AUG styled airsoft bb guns especially in the take down option area... They even mock up all the real return spring rails and guides as well as all undercarriage receiver parts. Literally this airsoft taken apart right next to the real thing is near impossible to tell which is real and which is airsoft! Plastic finish is identical in shape, texture and color to the real thing as well. The semi see through mags make the whole thing a work of art in realism.
MFI offers a number of spare barrel parts and flash suppressors for the AUG style series. We can shorten the barrel (both inner and outer cosmetic ones) for below $100.00... call for details 606-787-0022. Click here to see a photo of the MFI Shorten Barrel on a Army AUG Style with a M16 Style Flash Suppressor! By having both barrels (original length and shortened) you essentially have two guns in one. The swapping of these barrels does take about 45 minutes as you do need to remove the forward grip as well.
MFI also manufactures a M4 Style fake silencer, which will fit the AUG Style too! Click here for more information.

All our upgraded Tokyo Marui AEGs come with the HOP UP Mechanism installed and is full adjustable. To learn more about this feature click here.
MFI upgraded airsoft guns have moved away from the over powered versions we did 5+ years ago that were only good for target shooting. As gaming with airsoft has grown we are forced to follow the current trends and customer requests for less dangerous airsoft guns. Thus all our upgraded guns are well within the limits / requirements for gaming.
Most of the air guns we sell are technically not "Air Soft" as these are all EXPORT MODELS that make use of slightly higher compression springs, motors and gears that would be illegal in most countries where air soft guns are manufactured. Additionally our particular air guns have been re-designed to accommodate the use of metallic (6mm) ammunition.
As this model is an electric airsoft gun you can expect the following in terms of MFI Custom Upgrades:
In closing: MFI has years (10+) in the airsoft industry and we are also intimately involved with the manufactures and the manufacturing process for this sport. In short we have been there and done that and we are the only company in the USA with this kind of expertise and real world experience as we have been at it far longer than anyone else has. You do not have to take our word for it... as we not only stand behind everything we sell but, also back it up with an unparalleled warranty of our own. There are no direct airsoft factory / manufacture warranties; only the ones the seller is willing to give you. In short you get what you paid for.
Here at MFI we truly feel that the whole idea and beauty of airsoft is the fact that it is relatively safe and useable in areas where conventional bb guns or paintball guns can not be used. You would not shoot conventional bb guns in doors with little or no back stop and you certainly would not shoot paintballs in side your own home or garage. Airsoft is not intended to compete with either of these two other activities but rather is a super alternative when you do not want to go to the range or it is raining or what ever just to have a few quick minutes of fun. This sport can be enjoyed for years using the same MFI Upgraded gun as we have them especially built to last.
Many Different Styles & Sizes of Magazine: These fit all AUG AEGs
