Brief Summary:
Pictured above is an actual MFI photo of " The Single G36C STYLE AIRSOFT " with all the added accessories that are included in our MFI UPGRADED MODEL PACKAGE. (Just as MFI supplies to the Professional Motion Picture Industry.) As we have 2 DIFFERENT MODELS / PACKAGES please read the below information carefully to be sure you understand what you are buying. This product is state of the art in low volume air guns. Commonly known as Air Soft this model is single shot only. That is to say that you must physically cock the operating rod before each shot. The BBs used are the industry standard
6mm plastic type. This model comes with HOP UP but, like most single shot airsoft weapons that we sell this HOP UP non-adjustable.
SPECIAL NOTE ON REALISM: Although this product may look similar to the real thing when compared side by side they are NOT identical. While they may share some of the same cosmetic features / external shape the internal & external mechanisms for actual operation are in fact completely different from the real thing. Of course this is NOT are real weapon nor is it manufactured by HK (Heckler & Koch). The real weapon's manufacture has NO relationship to this airsoft product which is styled after the real thing. Thus any mention of or use of trade names is done in reference to the real weapon and NOT the airsoft product. No MFI offered product has any Trademarks or other IPR use on it. We do this to be sure that there is NO CONFUSION IN THE MARKET.
In real life this is the newest weapon in the G36 family. This airsoft version of the G36C ( "C" stands for COMPACT) and is the shortest version in the G36 family. Whether or not other companies will release any other G36 variants is unknown at this time. The other known Real HK models in the G36 Series are the G36 K (K for Karbine those crazy German spellings) and the G36/G36E (E for Export version) the K and E versions of the G36 feature integrated optics.
MFI carries this version of the G36C primarily because so many customers in particular Motion Picture Prop Houses have been asking for a good quality PROP G36C. How well these shoot and how reliable they will be has yet to be seen. We have tested 5 units here at MFI for over 3+ months and have yet to break them. Roughly 25,000 rounds through one of the test guns without any problems. Regardless we back these with our FULL WARRANTY / RETURN POLICY which NO OTHER RE-SELLER comes even close to offering a comprehensive and RISK FREE policy or CUSTOMER SERVICE as MFI does.
OK... Now to the nuts and bolts of this item. As always we are as honest and up front with our customers as possible. There are things about this item that we love and other areas that need work. You will see the word "CRAP" used a lot in the following description. When we use this; what we are saying is that the accessory or specific detail is substandard, near useless or just NOT the way MFI does things. Therefore whenever you see this word "CRAP" note that we are letting you know that this specific area or item of the weapon is NOT covered by any warranty. In short they are checked before leaving here to be sure that the crappy accessory is indeed in the box but, we do not know or care how long they may or may not last. So here is our opinion on all aspects of this Single Shot G36C.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THINGS:
Low Price: Obviously corners had to be cut to get this model as lows as it is. But given what else is available on the market this one is by far the best value and quality.
Like the real weapon this airsoft version is mostly uniform black plastic. We mention this is the positive area as this same type of finish is on the real weapon as well. Remember that composite materials (non-metallic) are the wave of the future in the firearms industry. The airsoft manufactures are simply copying this trend from the original designs.
Adequate Power / FPS. Shoots strong @ 200+ fps which means you can pierce a standard NRA Competition Paper Target at 25+ feet. Power not withstanding the flat trajectory is about what you would expect out of a single shot weapon with a very short barrel. BBs drop off at about 25 to 35 feet. Again this is primarily due to the fact that the actual inner barrel that the bb flies through is less than 6 inches long. We mention this in the positive area as most other weapons from this same manufacture do not perform this well even with longer barrels.
Dimensionally Excellent in Shape and Size: Meaning they got the dimensions really close to the real thing for the most part. If you were here in the showroom and you closed your eyes and we handed you a single shot airsoft G36C (MFI UPGRADED MODEL) and then handed you the real thing you would be hard pressed to say which one was which.
We like that the stock removes, this would have been even better if it side folded like the AEG or Real thing but, again that would have made them more costly. The fact that it comes off means that you can make pistol versions / super sub-compact SMG variants very easily. Additionally it appears that with a little work and a hinge you could actually make a side folding version if you really tried.
Hand guard not only removes in seconds (to make a shorter version of the G36) but, it also comes apart (side to side) which allows the Professional Motion Pictures Prop Masters to remove the Orange DOC Barrel repaint it and re-install it without having to waste time masking off with tape. Additionally you could also replace the barrel with a longer version that could be metal and have a thread end for a MFI Fake Silencer. Note that on the MFI UPGRADED Version the MFI Lower Rail and grip will not feel as solid on the real thing or as on the AEG. This is because the hand guard is split side to side for easy of taking apart. Once you have made any modification to the barrel that you see fit you can glue the two sides together (use standard plumbers PVC glue) and this will remedy the issue / reduce flex.
We like the fact that the SELECT FIRE MARKINGS are indented into the receiver. Would have been even better if they had added the full auto marking as well. Really nice as you can very easily take model paint (white for safe) and (orange for semi) and highlight these to look like the real deal.
Absolutely no trademarks. Areas where these would normally appear have the exact same recessed areas as on the real weapon. It was nice that these recessed areas remain as they give more detail to the item as a whole. Additionally there is no scaring from removal of trademarks.
Side Rail Recessed Holes are near exactly correct in center to center spacing. It is for this reason that we can use our REAL G36C SIDE RAILS on this model. Note that BASE MODEL does NOT have the holes drilled or tapped where the MFI UPGRADED MODEL these holes are DRILLED, TAPPED and MOUNTED with our 4" SIDE RAILS. These same holes (front one only) on one side (depends on if you are right or left handed) is used to mount the MFI EYE BOLT SLING SWIVEL HOOK UP POINT. As this modification (UPGRADED MODEL ONLY) is permanent (EPOXIED IN PLACE) you need to let us know if you are NOT RIGHT HANDED. We modify a few of these in advance yet they will all be RIGHT HANDED VERSIONS meaning the eye bolt is on the LEFT SIDE most forward rail hole. No worry as we can make LEFT HANDED models upon request and have them ready to ship the next day. (Sorry the epoxy needs time to dry fully before they can be re-packaged and this take some time.)
Different Configurations: Although the conversions are not to anything even remotely correct in real life weaponry it still is nice as many Prop Masters can more easily modify / create new style space guns out of these at a very cost effective price.
We like the fact that these come apart readily. To bad the use of holes on the right hand side had to be used to do this but, that is standard practice in the industry and certainly the most cost effective way of doing it. As we offer information as to how to hide these holes we keep this in the PLUS section. Being able to take these apart means that you can work on them if they break and as they are single shot you can very easily upgrade the spring to a higher pressure one you find in any hardware store. As mentioned we offer information as to how to plug / fill the holes on the right side to make them near invisible. This information is ONLY AVAILABLE to buyers of our G36C single shot rifles. We can send you to a source in your local area who can sell you a $3.00 product that will allow you to complete the filling in a matter of minutes. We do not offer this service strictly as if we did plug these holes then you would have a harder time getting the item apart if needed. Super easy to do by anyone in just a few minutes with one single product (no painting required).
We really like the magazines and the FAKE BULLETS. They did an EXCELLENT JOB on these. Almost as good as Marui and we really like the fact that these will connect with either Tokyo Marui or REAL HK G36 Magazines (obviously neither of these are functional with this weapon). Mag uses similar see through material as the real thing and if they differ at all from the real weapon's mag it would only be in that the real mags are a little more smokey in coloration. There is a slot in the front of the mag (more mentioned below) with is not on the originals either. Other than those 2 minor areas these are really close to the real mags.

The rear sling hook up point is exactly where it should be and in the correct dimensions. Very important as the second most requested accessory (after spare magazines) are 3 - POINT TACTICAL SLINGS!
Stock and main body of the weapon are weighted down with lead on the inside which gives much more realistic feeling.
Top Rail is relatively correct in shape and size and will allow the mounting of the MFI Red Dot Scope, the MFI Special Operations Sniper Scope (with riser) as well as any other weaver or Picatinny rail mounted accessory. Obviously these will NOT be absolutely Mil. Spec so if you have a $800.00+ Aim Point with a Swan Quick Release Through Lever do NOT expect that it will lock down properly. Note that the red dot included with the BASE MODEL is NOT the MFI RED DOT. We cover the Red Dot Site that is included with both packages in the section below as it is substandard.
The above options i.e. correct dimensions are key as the Professional Prop Masters can dress these up with real weapons accessories that they already have in the armory.
Cocking Handle: As on most single shot airsoft guns this feature does actually cock the weapon just as on the real weapon. Also as on the real gun, you'll find that the cocking handle can be operated by left-handed and right-handed shooters alike.
As mentioned above the fact that this airsoft gun has a removable stock, hand guard and has easily accessible screws for disassembly make modification to different configurations or even completely new weapons very convenient.

Finally as you can see from the above photos... If you add to all the above positive aspects mentioned above the fact that MFI offers an UPGRADED version of this same weapon which corrects some of the below less than desirable features. Not to forget that you can add tons of cool accessories too!
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF THINGS:
Again please forgive the use of the word "CRAP". Unfortunately is the only word that really conveys what we really think in these issues. Anything listed as "CRAP" means that we would have preferred NOT to have received these with the guns that we purchased from the manufacture and instead received a low price per unit. Unfortunately the price difference was less than $2.00 without them so we decided to just take them anyway.
Additionally many of you will see similar G36Cs for sale and think that the addition of these items really means something. These items while they appear to work / function well; there is no telling how long they will continue to work. As you know RELIABILITY is paramount to MFI given our exceptional warranty. Just looking at the construction techniques used on these items triggers a suspicious response from us as to their actual practical functionality.
In short if you are a 14 year old kid seeing these you may think... "WOW These are So Cool!!!" but, as a scrutinizing & educated MFI Customer you will likely agree with us that these are NOT up to par with the rest of the high quality items that we offer. That being said... These are NOT covered under any warranty and we do not care if you like them or not; as we do NOT... and in essence we are NOT charging you anything for them and thus we consider them worthless.
Following BASE MODEL items are "CRAP":
Front site is incorrect in that it should be a full globe instead of the half globe as seen on this model. If this really bothers you all you have to do is buy a piece of 1/2 PVC pipe, cut it to size and replace the half globe on your own.
The Rear Site is not adjustable for windage or elevation. Really not necessary as the short barrel will give minimum accuracy anyway. Still would have been a nice detail to have.
Magazine has front slot to pull down the bbs with the follower. This is where the fact that real and Tokyo Marui magazines will fit (if modified) in the single shot gun is important to Profession Motion Picture Prop Masters. You still save hundreds of dollars as a prop even if you have to buy a TM mag for the AEG G36C to replace the single short mag in an extreme close up camera angle. Remember that this slot is common practice in airsoft single shot and even some live weapons. It does facilitate the loading process but, is considered to be antiquated technology by MFI. We hope the manufacture considers the re-configuration of the top of the magazine to one similar to that used on AEGs & the addition of a loading tool to the set. This could be done at a minimal cost and do away with the slot altogether.
Paint BBs: These are not only USELESS but, will also KILL any airsoft gun if you try to use them. DO NOT USE THESE. Use of these will void any warranty on the gun. We leave them in the box only as an example of what really bad ammo looks like and we are trying to be as cost effective for you as possible. Our advice is through these away. No one makes a paint bb that works and or will not damage your airsoft gun. For the BASE MODEL these are the only bbs that you get so if you plan on shooting the gun you NEED to buy QUALITY ammunition. The UPGRADED MODEL comes with 1000 of our Super Competition Grade BBs!
The weapon does NOT have the molded in ejection port buffer (see right hand side of real or AEG; it is the block just behind the ejection port). This in real life acts as a brass deflector which keeps the brass from hitting you and also makes an irregular pattern of brass disbursement. This item on the AEG and Real Weapon also acts as the lock mechanism for the side folding stock.
Laser Mount is so substandard that we are surprised that it works or stays in place at all. About as basic as you can get... simple split side to side with two bolts. Base Package also includes a Pistol Grip Elastic Tie Down / a small piece of elastic sewn together to hold the end of the laser cord and pressure pad on the trigger pack grip. Apart from the fact that this is a poor quality sewing job they could have just added a 1.5" wide strip of inner tube from a bicycle tire which would actually be more effective and is what most real world operators use. Oh did I forget to mention... having a pressure pad on the trigger pack grip is NOT the preferred area for finger activation. As this hand / fingers are already occupied with controlling the select fire switches, trigger not to mention the fact that this is the dominant hand that holds fast and controls the weapons main movement / support. In the real world 90% of the time the laser or flashlight control / on / off pad is on the hand guard and controlled by the subordinate hand.
Laser is by far the best of the CRAP items. Does come with a really long (15 inches) and pressure pad but, no telling how long these will work. Comes with battery as well but, if it is dead too bad. There is no way to adjust windage or elevation and the dot that is projected is 5 times larger and fuzzier than any conventional quality laser like the MFI Laser (which we no longer sell). So good luck aiming / zeroing it. This laser is a good example of why we stopped making our laser. Basically impossible to convince the customer that a $125.00 real weapons laser was far better than this piece of crap that I would not pay $5.00 for.
The Plastic rails are a joke... Enough said... Totally 100% worthless. Note you could mount a MFI Grip to this rail but, you could ripe the rail and grip off in a matter of seconds with less than 5 pounds of pressure.
The Red Dot... Again if you are 14 years old.... WOW... If older then perhaps this is better than nothing... but, not by much. Comes with battery as well but, if it is dead too bad. OK this uses really low end technology to give you a cross hair in the plastic lens. Maybe this would pass for a real Red Dot if seen in a really far / long shot / background action scene but, what a waste of time this was. Still basically free as we are not charging you for it and "NO" we will not give you anything for it for us to keep it. In fact I would have to charge you money just to take out of the box and through it away.
The Sling... Yeah right... My Grandfather said to me once... "If you have nothing good to say about someone or something then do not say anything at all." "No Comment".
The Sling Hook Up Points that are located (INCORRECTLY) on the upper scope rail are as bad as the sling itself. You should NOT trust these or the sling to even hold the static weight of the weapon. We highly recommend that you unscrew them from the rail and through them away. We offer a real remedy to this issue in our upgrade below.
So as you can see there are far MORE things that we LIKE about this model than there are that we do not like. It is really to bad that the accessories are so poor quality as the rest of the weapon is really far above these as well as being above the standard of other Neonfire weapons offered.
DO NOT confuse this with other NEONFIRE products that MFI will NOT CARRY! Most other Neonfire guns are so substandard that we can hardly hold back from laughing when we see them for the first time.
Unfortunately there are a lot of other unscrupulous re sellers who do not care about what they sell and hope neither do their customers. These type of business practices do a great DISSERVICE to the airsoft industry. These re-sellers are ignorant and have zero experience with the real thing or even high end AEGs so they do NOT know the difference between what is good and what is crap.
In our opinion these type of re-sellers are only interested in making a fast buck. They do not care about educating themselves and thus in turn their customers remain clueless as to what they are buying. Here at MFI we operate much differently. We prefer to give you more information than you could possible need to make a FULLY EDUCATED PURCHASE. This way you know exactly what you are getting in terms of the product, services, risk free return policy and life time guaranty.
Sure we realize that some customers will just use our information to buy somewhere else and inevitably they will come to realize that what we offer is NOT THE SAME as what others advertise. Of course this is only after they have wasted lots of time and money. This is why others do NOT give you much information. Especially true when a customer orders something from one of these less than reputable re-sellers (to save $10.00 or so) and the product never arrives! They always seem to be on back order yet, the re-seller is happy to keep your money in the mean time.

Historical Information:
A little background on the real weapon: The extensive use of synthetic materials is among the most noteworthy characteristics of the G36. H&K were pioneers in the use of synthetic materials back in the 1960s and 1970s, and with the G36 they prove that they still are. The G36 is the first production rifle to have a receiver made from a polymer compound. In fact, the only metal parts are the barrel, gas piston, bolt assembly, mainspring, retaining pins, receiver rails and a number of minor components inside the trigger housing. The use of synthetic materials results in a rifle with a very low weight and a high degree of resistance to wear and corrosion. The Receiver, stock, forearm, carrying handle and trigger housing are all made from a special high-strength injection-molded polymer (apparently Nylon 66), reinforced with microscopic carbon fibers. This material combines high resistance to corrosion, wear, chemicals and radiation with low weight, great strength and high dimensional stability. The receiver has molded-in stainless steel rails, on which the bolt assembly reciprocates. All metal parts subjected to friction are given a special coating, which also helps protect against corrosion. The cold hammer forged barrel is made from corrosion resistant chrome steel, internally chrome-lined and externally protected by a tough, matte-black oxide finish.
In real life the HK G36C is only available to Military and Law Enforcement. It is fast becoming a favorite of Special Operations Teams as it is one of the shortest assault weapons available in .223 or 5.56 NATO. A real G36C if you are lucky enough to get one the cost is near $2800.00 +. And the cost of the AEG is $400.00+... Why risk dangerous and expensive airsoft or real firearms in the hands of untrained actors? Enjoy relatively safe indoor shooting year round.
