Brief Summary:
Pictured above are actual photos of " The Electric Project-90 AIRSOFT manufactured by Tokyo Marui". (Just as MFI supplies to the Professional Motion Picture Industry.) This product is latest in state of the art for airsoft. Commonly known as Air Soft this model is all electric and select fire (Semi & Full Automatic). That is to say that it is capable of both semi automatic and full automatic fire. The BBs used are the industry standard
6mm plastic type.
SPECIAL NOTE ON REALISM: Although this product may look similar to the real thing when compared side by side they are NOT identical. While they may share some of the same cosmetic features / external shape the internal & external mechanisms for actual operation are in fact completely different from the real thing. Of course this is NOT are real weapon nor is it manufactured by FN (Fabrique Nationale). The real weapon's manufacture has NO relationship to this airsoft product which is styled after the real thing. Thus any mention of or use of trade names is done in reference to the real weapon and NOT the airsoft product. No MFI offered product has any Trademarks or other IPR use on it. We do this to be sure that there is NO CONFUSION IN THE MARKET.

NOTE: Marui lists the RIS as optional but, MFI includes this in the price of the gun as well as battery and charger.
SPECIAL NOTE: The biggest complaint in the airsoft industry these days that MFI hears at least twice per day is the supplying of substandard "El Cheepo" generic batteries with electric guns. This is a common practice of ripping of the customer by unscrupulous vendors. These vendors can offer lower prices as they supply substandard batteries (Non OME "ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE EQUIPMENT"). MFI could also buy these junk batteries ($2.75 to $4.00) that last only 2 months (if they even work at all when you get them) as many of you have called to buy batteries from us to replace these poor quality ones supplied by someone else. REST ASSURED that MFI supplies only OME batteries or Generic versions made under license of Tokyo Marui in the exact same battery factories that make Marui's using the exact same tooling and top quality cells as they do for Marui OME. There is a significant cost difference and a very good reason why MFI & Marui recommend using ONLY OME Spec batteries and chargers as substandard equipment can permanently damage your costly airsoft gun. Genuine Tokyo Marui or MFI Generic batteries are good for 2.5+ years at a minimum. In short you get what you pay for...
SCOPE / SITE: 2 Position (Reticle) Red Dot is included and very similar to the real thing which is simple small dot (for low light use) or larger dot (for day light use). The only real falling away point is this red dot site. The Marui version mimics the design that the real P90 originally had in the mid 1990s. Currently the red dot site on the real weapon is far more advanced than it was 2 years ago. Of course to have all the options on the real weapon in this area (i.e. 22 different brightness settings in the visible spectrum and 10 in the invisible Infrared spectrum (for night vision use) would cost $400.00+ just for the site like the new EOTech site we carry.
SPECIAL NOTE: 2 - AAA Batteries are required for the Red Dot Scope and these are NOT included with the gun.
Magazines: are detachable and feature semi see through configuration with dummy cartridges inside. This is one of the major highlights of the Project-90. The real weapon has the same feature (see through mag) and this adds the final touch and most convincing aspect to date.
Standard Magazine capacity is 68 bbs. FYI: Real mag holds 50 rounds of the new 5.7 X 28mm (SS190 FMJ). Hi Capacity mags are available and they hold 300 bbs. These do NOT have the FAKE BULLETS as do the standard mags. There is a major advantage / improvement in operation of the hi cap mags. As the winding mechanism / wheel is NOT accessible once the mag is seated in the weapon Marui has made sure that you get almost 85%-90% of the total capacity on that one wind and the magazine will NOT un wind itself when placed in the weapon the way most other hi cap mags do.
Motor is EG1000 with latest Version 6 Mech. Box and Hop UP… no big deal as this is considered standard now.
Rail system (RIS) is identical to the real thing (just one of 14 Patents we had to look into) with the exception that the rail has mounts only for the right hand side. Fact is unless you are a left-handed shooter this is the most logical place for a rail. The real P90 RIS consists of single right side 4" rail which can be moved to opposite side in minutes and front flat mounting surface just below the barrel and forward of the trigger pack grip. The forward mounting surface is most often where the laser goes. As this area is slightly sloped backwards (like the real thing) and thus will not accommodate a laser mount unless the mount has the exact same angle of slope. For this reason we recommend using a MFI laser / SMG mount just above the barrel as it is plug and play in this area. Most common accessories for the real weapons are Lasers and flashlights. As on the real thing all MFI manufacture Lasers and Lights will work on this weapon as plug and play (without modification).
MFI APPROVED DOC Marking is same as our M4A1, M16A2, AKs and AUGs. Thus Tracer units and NEW MFI SOCOM and M4 Military FAKE Silencers will fit this weapon with no modification and no need of an adapter.
Upper and Lower Frames do separate similar to the AUG/G36C Airsoft series in that they field strip for easier cleaning. Actually a little faster as like on the real thing it is just a one pin push and slide the upper off. This is nice in that there is no right angle to push a bb through if a jam occurs. You AUG/G36C owners know this personally that when receivers are separated the barrel is a clean straight shot which was unique in airsoft until now.
Battery Compartment: Unlike many ultra compact SMGs that Marui makes knock offs of the Project-90 has a very nice and quick to change battery area. Perhaps the best and most convenient to date of the Marui line up that use mini style batteries. The nice rubber butt plate slides off with a push of a button.

Upper and Lower frames / receivers are very close in shape and texture of the real thing. And there is nearly as much metal on the airsoft version as the real thing. Very similar to Real AUG construction style. To the novice (someone who has never seen a real P90) it might appear to have too much plastic but, the fact is that the real weapon is made mostly of ballistic nylon and other plastic polymers. We are a FN Law Enforcement Dealer and we can compare the two. Again please note that real P90s are 85% composite material or ballistic nylon in construction of the exterior components. Marui's black texture plastic is a EXCELLENT reproduction of ballistic nylon but, for Marui to use the same ballistic nylon (as some customers have suggested) would cost $2000.00 per gun.
Repeat manufacturing: Like all airsoft models from Marui in general it is like MP5A5 (the most popular) production runs every 9-11 months. It is not likely to be like the long waits between production runs like PSG-1 or SG 550 which are about 18-20 months between runs. In short is we are ever out of stock it could be a long time before they are available. That is why we try our best to keep a good supply on hand at all times.
In real life the FN P-90 is only available to Military and Law Enforcement. It is fast becoming a favorite of Special Operations Teams as it is one of the shortest assault weapons available. Like the real weapon the Project-90 from Marui is possible the best close quarters weapon to date this is due to it's ergonomic design (as well as completely ambidextrous) and super short length making it highly maneuverable. A real FN P-90 if you are lucky enough to get one the cost is near $1200.00 +. Why risk dangerous and expensive real firearms in the hands of untrained actors? MFI upgraded airsoft guns have moved away from the over powered versions we did 5+ years ago that were only good for target shooting. As gaming with airsoft has grown we are forced to follow the current trends and customer requests for less dangerous airsoft guns. Thus all our upgraded guns are well within the limits / requirements for gaming.
Most of the air guns we sell are technically not "Air Soft" as these are all EXPORT MODELS that make use of slightly higher compression springs, motors and gears that would be illegal in most countries where air soft guns are manufactured. Additionally our particular air guns have been re-designed to accommodate the use of metallic (6mm) ammunition.

Here at MFI we truly feel that the whole idea and beauty of airsoft is the fact that it is relatively safe and useable in areas where conventional bb guns or paintball guns can not be used. You would not shoot conventional bb guns in doors with little or no back stop and you certainly would not shoot paintballs in side your own home or garage. Airsoft is not intended to compete with either of these two other activities but rather is a super alternative when you do not want to go to the range or it is raining or what ever just to have a few quick minutes of fun.
