Brief Summary:
Pictured above is an actual MFI photo of " The Electric PSG-1 AIRSOFT " (Just as MFI supplies to the Professional Motion Picture Industry.) This product is state of the art in low volume air guns. The PSG-1 is a Semi-Automatic only BB gun. The BBs used are the industry standard 6mm plastic type.
SPECIAL NOTE ON REALISM: Although this product may look similar to the real thing when compared side by side they are NOT identical. While they may share some of the same cosmetic features / external shape the internal & external mechanisms for actual operation are in fact completely different from the real thing. Of course this is NOT are real weapon nor is it manufactured by HK (Heckler & Koch). The real weapon's manufacture has NO relationship to this airsoft product which is styled after the real thing. Thus any mention of or use of trade names is done in reference to the real weapon and NOT the airsoft product. No MFI offered product has any Trademarks or other IPR use on it. We do this to be sure that there is NO CONFUSION IN THE MARKET.
The PSG-1 airsoft weapon has all the bells and whistles that the real deal has. Fully adjustable stock by means of cheek rest height and tilt…as well as width and length of butt plate. Pistol grip is made out of ABS plastic but, is so well textured and colored that you would swear it is wood. This grip is completely adjustable like the real thing, it perfectly conforms to your hand. This is by far the most ergonomically adjustable airsoft gun available.
SPECIAL NOTE BLOW BACK ACTION: This new model is the only electric airsoft gun with blow back action. That is to say that the bolt face moves back and forth when you fire it!
SPECIAL NOTE SCOPE / MOUNT: The scope is an exact reproduction of the real thing on the outside but, has a standard cross hair reticule with no range finder like one would find on the real weapon. The factory (Tokyo Marui) mounted scope has a design flaw in it that Marui has never corrected... The standard scope mount does not have a positive lock to the receiver thus the mount and scope wobble or can be moved a couple of millimeters from side to side. There goes any hope of consistent accuracy. Again MFI finally got tired of waiting for this to be fixed... MFI modifies the mounting bracket (without any damage or permanent change to the function, disassembly or cosmetic appearance) so that it no longer wobbles. This MFI modification to the scope and mount eliminates the factory design flaw and make the entire siting system as stable as possible.
Although the PSG-1 and all members of G3 family such as: MC 51 (HK51/53), G3A3, G3A4 and SG-1 are all in real life chambered in 308 or 7.62 X 51, this does not mean that they are far more powerful. A common misconception among airsoft is that a weapon chambered in what would appear on the outside to be a large center fire rifle cartridge like 7.62 or .223 would have much greater range and accuracy than an airsoft weapon mimicking a 9mm or 45 caliber center fire pistol cartridge. In real life, the effective range difference between pistol and rifle cartridge is vast: 9mm 25 feet to 50 meters vs. .223 / 7.62 at 75 meters to 900 meters. The ratio here is 10 to 20 times greater whereas in airsoft the MP5K vs. PSG-1 both use a very similar interior mechanism, so the effective range of these two airsoft weapons are about the same. Granted you will have greater range and accuracy with the PSG-1 as it has a longer barrel than the MP5K, but not anywhere near the difference of the real thing. You may have an increase in range of 5-10% with long guns vs. SMGs and slightly tighter groups (1-2 inches vs. 3-5 inches).
A real PSG-1... If you are lucky you might be able to fine one for under $10,000.00. Why risk dangerous and expensive real firearms in the hands of untrained actors? MFI upgraded airsoft guns have moved away from the over powered versions we did 5+ years ago that were only good for target shooting. As gaming with airsoft has grown we are forced to follow the current trends and customer requests for less dangerous airsoft guns. Thus all our upgraded guns are well within the limits / requirements for gaming.
Most of the air guns we sell are technically not "Air Soft" as these are all EXPORT MODELS that make use of slightly higher compression springs, motors and gears that would be illegal in most countries where air soft guns are manufactured. Additionally our particular air guns have been re-designed to accommodate the use of metallic (6mm) ammunition.

Here at MFI we truly feel that the whole idea and beauty of airsoft is the fact that it is relatively safe and useable in areas where conventional bb guns or paintball guns can not be used. You would not shoot conventional bb guns in doors with little or no back stop and you certainly would not shoot paintballs in side your own home or garage. Airsoft is not intended to compete with either of these two other activities but rather is a super alternative when you do not want to go to the range or it is raining or what ever just to have a few quick minutes of fun. This sport can be enjoyed for years using the same MFI Upgraded gun as we have them especially built to last.
SPECIAL NOTE: The biggest complaint in the airsoft industry these days that MFI hears at least twice per day is the supplying of substandard "El Cheepo" generic batteries with electric guns. This is a common practice of ripping of the customer by unscrupulous vendors. These vendors can offer lower prices as they supply substandard batteries (Non OME "ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE EQUIPMENT"). MFI could also buy these junk batteries ($2.75 to $4.00) that last only 2 months (if they even work at all when you get them) as many of you have called to buy batteries from us to replace these poor quality ones supplied by someone else. REST ASSURED that MFI supplies only OME batteries or Generic versions made under license of Tokyo Marui in the exact same battery factories that make Marui's using the exact same tooling and top quality cells as they do for Marui OME. There is a significant cost difference and a very good reason why MFI & Marui recommend using ONLY OME Spec batteries and chargers as substandard equipment can permanently damage your costly airsoft gun. Genuine Tokyo Marui or MFI Generic batteries are good for 2.5+ years at a minimum. In short you get what you pay for...
