Brief Summary:
Pictured above is an actual photo of " Airsoft Copy of the / FJTP - MFI (NON-FUNCTIONING / MOVIE PROP) FAMOUS ISRAELI SMG ". (Just as MFI supplies to the
Professional Motion Picture Industry.) This Non-Functioning / Prop SMG is dimensionally close to the original / real IMI UZI which is used by Special Operations Teams around the world.
SPECIAL NOTE ON REALISM: Although this product may look similar to the real thing when compared side by side they are NOT identical. While they may share some of the same cosmetic features / external shape the internal & external mechanisms for actual operation are in fact completely different from the real thing. Of course this is NOT are real weapon nor is it manufactured by IMI (Israeli Military Industries). The real weapon's manufacture has NO relationship to this airsoft product which is styled after the real thing. Thus any mention of or use of trade names is done in reference to the real weapon and NOT the airsoft product. No MFI offered product has any Trademarks or other IPR use on it. We do this to be sure that there is NO CONFUSION IN THE MARKET.
Make no mistake this item is NOT to be mistaken for the other HIGH QUALITY airsoft that MFI has become famous for supplying. As no one in the airsoft industry really makes a cost effective yet quality version of the Famous Israeli SMG we have been reluctant in the past to carry anything at all. Due to constant requests for UZIs in the film industry we now carry this NON-FIRING / MOTION PICTURE PROP.
These were originally designed (and are still capable of) as a low cost full automatic airsoft gun. Due to their complete lack of performance and incredibly unreliable nature in regards to the mechanism that propels the bb, we offer these as non-functioning guns only. Yes you could place the three D-Cell batteries in the top cover area and be utterly disappointed in watching the bbs fly about 9 feet and then drop to the floor. Estimated speed is perhaps 50 feet per second.
The best news is the price! That and the fact that these are still 1/1 scale of the real thing even if the side plate does say "MINI" on it… Looking past the fact that the firing mechanism is a total piece of crap… What we like about this Famous Israeli SMG Airsoft is that it is relatively correct in shape and size. Not perfect but, far better than what we have seen in the past and what other want-to-be airsoft vendors offer and claim as "totally life like". What do they know? MFI is a Class III dealer and we do know the difference. We are trying to be 100% up front with you in regards to what you get. Information is everything when it comes to a happy and satisfied customer.
The stock does lock in the closed and open positions and moves / opens in the same manner as the real thing. There are no sling swivel / hook up points, although you could easily add them to this model.
The cocking handle does not move, but the top cover does remove similar to the real thing. So you could use this fact in a scene showing the final stage of assembly if you watch the camera angle. No... a real top cover does not fit although it is very close. I seriously doubt any parts from a real UZI would fit either although "Anything is possible with a little time and a whole lot of money." (An old saying in the film industry). The fact that the top cover does come off and that this is where the batteries go, means that you could easily weigh this down (close to the real weight) will very little effort or cost.
The barrel nut does slide off (if you pull hard enough) not that it reveals or does anything. Nor does the barrel come out like the real thing as it is glued in place. I suppose you could mock up a fake silencer more easily because of this fact.
The magazine is not a full length version, even though it looks like it might be. It holds no bbs and serves no function. You can pull it out but, it only slides up about 2 inches anyway (see photo links below). There is no magazine release catch either… you just pull it out and push it back in. The magazine is held in place by friction… nice tight fit though...
The trigger does work / it moves, as does the select fire switch and rear peep sites... (whoopee). No real big thrill for this model but, it does work very well and a back ground prop and can be used in medium close ups… up to say 6 feet without giving anything away.
The weapon has very good plastic detail with a nice flat black finish. The finish is one of the changes we had made. Unlike other single shot SMGs this one is not shinny black plastic. Ready for use in any film or video project.
Basically what you have here is a solid, inexpensive wall hanger / movie prop of a weapon that normally would cost you $3500.00 for a real full auto version.
