New Military Tactical Combat Sling:
Pictured above is an all new product that we have manufacture to our specifications. In the past we have been very reluctant to carry slings as we have always felt that they are a very personal choice and you almost need to see them in the flesh and try them to decide which one is the best for you. Additionally no one sling really offered it all or was head and shoulders above the rest. That was how it was in the past... The future has arrived!
Every staff member at MFI shoots on a daily basis. We have these slings on every weapon we use on a daily basis. Just a super quality sling at a very reasonable price. This is the same exact sling that we supply to the Iraqi Government and if you have flown into Baghdad International Airport lately you have seen our sling on every AK, M-16 and HK weapon used by the Airport Security Forces. This item is NOT RESTRICTED in any way and we offer WORLD WIDE shipping to ANYONE. We currently have these in the supply chains for all Theaters of Combat Operations including: Iraq and Afghanistan not to forget Law Enforcement / SWAT Teams and Private Military Contracts like BLACKWATER throughout the world. So if your Supply Officer does not have any we can sell them directly to you.
The Problem: The whole concept of warfare has changed in the past few years. The US Military has been increasingly finding itself not only as a Liberation Force over Tyrannies (i.e. Afghanistan & Iraq) but, also a temporary Security / Police Force for the resulting freed nation. In the past a tactical sling was used predominantly in SWAT / TACTICAL situations where the operator KNEW that they were in immediate danger and thus had little or no use for a self releasing tactical sling. Today's security forces find that 80% of the time they are not under immediate danger but, still NEED to have their weapons ready WITHOUT having to have to bare the full weight of their weapons system 100% of the time. Arms and hands get tired quickly especially give that the average weapon system now weighs in at over 14 lbs. US Solders nowadays need the ability to have their hands free to: shakes hands with the locals, write reports, distribute food or medical supplies while still having immediate access to their weapons for self-defense. This product while fully applicable for FULL ON FORCE ACTION OF A SWAT / TACTICAL ENTRY TEAM is really designed for the everyday Nation & Relationship Building Foot Solder who walks the streets of Baghdad. Never knowing when the next attract might happen he requires a sling that gives him relief from the weigh while on foot patrol yet, able to be snapped into the firing position in a matter of seconds without the delay of un-snapping or un-hooking the sling. This is EXACTLY why we designed this sling. To meet and exceed the Modern Military's Need for a truly duel purpose tactical sling. In the past all combat / tactical slings essentially operate the same way to a point. The typical combat sling like the SITES Spectre HC combat sling from Italy, BlackHawk Slings or the Giles Tactical Sling all have the typical flaw of combat slings... Sure the user can have the sling in the rest position down along the waist line but, there is nothing to stop the "D"-ring at the rear from sliding forward; thus shortening the length of the part that hits your waist. Within seconds of putting on the sling it begins to bind or pinch in that area. By not having a stop mechanism at that point the sling can quickly be shouldered without effort or unsnapping anything. Not exactly the type of item you what to wear on a long patrol. Other slings try to solve this problem by adding a hook release or hard point which requires the user to manually unsnap or unhook the "D" - ring which is held in place at the rear to allow a wider length of webbing between the front sling swivel and the rear sling swivel. Problem here is that you have to find the hook / lock and undo it. Pretty hard to do under pressure / stress and near impossible when rounds start passing by your head and you are forced to hit the deck. By this time the release button or whatever allows the sling to expand is trapped under your body weight. Even if you know where the release button is you have to roll over on your back to get at it. This never happens with our sling as it self releases.
The Solution: It is at this point that this sling does something that most other combat slings do NOT. It automatically unsnaps to increase in length where other slings require the user to unsnap them manually. This is achieved by a simple yet ingenious flip over clip that is designed to take between 15 lbs. to 30 lbs. of weight before the flip over clip unsnaps from the base that holds it. We state from 15 lbs. to 30 lbs. as there are several ways to adjust the exact amount of pressure needed to release the flip lock. This is covered in greater detail below. The weight of the weapon alone will never cause the clasp to be pulled free but, a quick forward motion similar to that which naturally occurs when one tries to shoulder a weapon will automatically release the sling and expand to it's full length. Same result if you jump into a ditch or take cover to the prone position... enough pressure is automatically applied to the flip latch and you are ready to fire. This is what we like about this product:
NOTE: With any combat sling side mounted sling swivels are preferred as they more quickly react to the pulling release mechanism than standard parallel mounts.
